Today I made 5,000 photo-copies and stapled together 1,500 pages. On the flip side, I did get to wear jeans and flip-flops to work.

Sweet summertime....
So, summer has finally come to San Diego! Our summer has been pretty cool and somewhat cloudy until this weekend. Then we got high 80's, lots of sunshine, and warm breezes. Got my tan on this weekend, friends!

A man is nothing without regimentals!
This weekend we went to the Surface Warrior Ball. One of the perks of being in the military is the chance to go to lots of formal events.... beautiful dresses, new shoes, handsome men in uniform. We had a really great time- sipping wine and looking out over the water, a delicious dinner with friends, and a little dancing to finish the night out!

...and he cooks too!
This weekend we decided to grill some steaks. Let me revise that statement. Phil decided to grill some steaks. Not only grill, but go grocery shopping for ingredients, make a marinade, carefully marinade the steaks for twenty-four hours, flipping them halfway through, and then transport them to his parents, where we were spending the weekend. Such a rare and unusual event needed to be captured in photographs!

Still alive...
Once again, been a crazy week!! Work and school are keeping me pretty busy, and not leaving a lot of room for extra stuff. However, found a little time this week to watch some NCIS. Naval Criminal Investigative Service, for those who don't know. With Netflix we can pretty much just keep the disks coming, so we started with Season 1 and are planning on going all the way through. We're big fans. When I get a cat, I plan on naming it Gibbs.

New fave...
This is a photo of my new favorite author. Yes, she's sitting in front of the pyramids. Pretty cool. She writes romantic archaeological mysteries. My style?? I think so!! I reached book five of the series and decided to check and see how many were left- I thought I might be running out. No worries, the series is nineteen books long, and Elizabeth Peters is still alive and writing. Yay!
